Midas Toolmaking - GRP Tooling & Prototype Panels

GRP Tooling & Prototype Panels

Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) is a quick and robust method to produce large scale panels in low volumes. They are an ideal way to prove ‘A’ surface CAD data for form, fit and aesthetics. Simple tooling is used to produce parts quickly and accurately and finished to the highest level by skilled patternmakers.

Return to Midas Toolmaking

GRP is ideal for producing strong and rigid parts which can be easily machined and painted to your required finish. Perfect for mock ups, exhibition purposes or trial builds. Our skill and expertise levels at Midas mean that modifications can be made both to the parts and the tooling.

All panels are hand laid up by our highly skilled patternmakers who then trim parts manually; cnc trimming is used when necessary. Parts can be screwed, bolted or bonded together, and are tough enough to withstand the harshest environmental conditions.

  • Typically 1 - 25 off parts can be produced from tooling
  • Timescales are in the region of 10-15 days if required
  • Soft tooling CNC machined directly from you 3D CAD data
  • Perfect ‘A’ surface mock-ups’ - ideal if little or no ‘B’ surface is required
  • Ideal for verifying aesthetics, fit and function
  • Prototype tooling that can easily be modified
