Moulded Casework

With production volumes potentially in the thousands Injection moulding was the preferred production route. However in order to validate the design and enable the customer to build 5 structural working prototypes Midas laid down a suite of 4 FASTrim™ tools.

All four tools utilised complex side action coring to achieve undercuts and replicate the injection moulding design. All the tools were designed, machined and finished within 3 working weeks and the 1st off set for approval was finished and painted within a further 5 days.

Overall Moulding assembly size is 600mm x 300mm x 300mm  with all 4 parts fitting accurately together.

Fastrim proved to be a competitive alternative to SLA/SLS & Vac Casting and due to the nature of our production material, parts could be tested, validated & sold to market whilst injection mould tooling was being manufactured
